Located in a completely isolated area, a few meters away from the beach, this single-story wooden house is perfectly restored. Ideal for those seeking total rest as a family or as a couple. All the surroundings of the house are paradisiacal, being therefore the perfect choice to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, just listen to the sea and see stars at night. This house stands out for its "open space" characteristics, for privileging the natural light inside, for its "clean" and minimalist decoration. With 2 bedrooms (1 double bed and 2 single beds) and 1 bathroom with shower, this house has capacity for a maximum of 4 people. Outside, there is a very pleasant leisure area, a portable barbecue and a dining area. Set between the green of the mountain and the blue of the sea, this property has a sweeping view of the Atlantic Ocean that conveys a sense of calm and peace. There is no cell phone reception, only internet. However, the internet signal is sometimes unstable, so it is not ideal for work. Due to the exotic location of the house, the cliffs on the north slope block the sun exposure from October 15 to February 15. The house has parking on the outside of the property. AREA The house is located on the north coast of Madeira Island, in São Jorge, a parish in the municipality of Santana. Being located in a secluded area by the sea, it is a 14-minute drive from the center of São Jorge (where you can find a mini market) and 16 minutes from the center of Arco de São Jorge, a neighboring parish where you can visit the Wine and Vine Museum. The closest bar to the house is a 10-minute drive away. The historical center of the municipality of Santana is a 24-minute drive away. There you can find a supermarket, several bars and restaurants. Take the opportunity to visit the Typical Houses of Santana, the Rocha do Navio Cable Car and the Madeira Theme Park. Contemplate the views over the northern coast of the island by visiting the belvederes closest to the house. In São Jorge you will find sights such as Miradouro da Vigia, Ruínas de São Jorge, and Ponta de São Jorge. In the next parish, near the center of Arco de São Jorge you will find the Miradouro do Arco de São Jorge and the Miradouro do Cabo Aéreo. Both are about 25 minutes by car from Casa da Rocha. Closer you will find the Miradouro das Cabanas viewpoint, a 14-minute drive away. To reach the beginning of the trail closest to the house, Levada do Rei, you will drive 4.6 km for about 12 minutes. The city of Funchal is about 1 hour away by car. HOW TO GET TO The best option to get to the house is to rent a car, which can also be useful if you want to go to the main tourist attractions in this area. Special attention should be paid to the location, which is quite isolated, to the choice of vehicle, which should have good power for the climbs, and to the driving skills, which should be excellent, because the road there is winding. ACCESS TO THE PROPERTY You have access to all areas of the property. INTERACTION We are always available to help or to ask questions. We will do our best to accommodate all requests. OTHER REMARKS - According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid identification document (e.g. passport, identity card). - Check-in must be scheduled in advance. If not booked within a maximum of 48 hours, guests will be subject to our staff's availability. - All bed linens and towels are provided. We can also place a crib, high chair, and baby bathtub if needed. There is a first aid kit, fire extinguishers and fire blanket at all properties. ATTENTION We inform that a Municipal Tourist Ecotax will be charged for person staying overnight in the municipality of Santana. All guests staying in tourist developments and / or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged 2,00€ per person/night, up to a maximum 7 nigths stay/ 14€ per person.
