Casa Strelitzia is a traditional Madeira house in the parish of Santa Maria Maior, Funchal’s Old Town, with special architectural and historical interest. It is within walking distance of the Central Market and Promenade do Porto, making it one of the few holiday properties in such a central and prestigious area. The property is split over two floors: the first-floor holiday home sleeps up to six people, and the studio above sleeps two. Booked together, the whole property accommodates eight guests—ideal for celebrating Madeira’s famous New Year’s Eve fireworks. Each flat has a balcony with fabulous sea views, perfect for breakfast, evening drinks, or sunbathing. Amenities include free WiFi, satellite TV, a comfortable sofa, dining area, well-equipped kitchen (with oven, microwave, fridge, toaster, coffee machine, kettle, and utensils), private bathrooms with shower, hairdryer, free toiletries, bed linen, and towels. A 24-hour reception, run by An Island Apart, is available for any eventuality. The courtyard below and rear access are shared by both apartments, featuring a table and chairs for relaxing or entertaining, a traditional volcanic stone BBQ, concealed washing machine and dryer, and access to a shared basement garage with secure parking for one car per apartment. PROPERTY RULES To ensure a pleasant stay for everyone, we ask that you observe a few simple rules. • Smoking is not permitted inside the property. A fine of €300 will be charged for non-compliance. • Parties or events are not permitted. • Pets are not permitted. • Please be considerate of your neighbours and keep noise levels down, especially at night. The property may be equipped with a smart sensor (Minut) that monitors noise, smoke and temperature levels, solely for safety reasons. This system does not record conversations or collect personal data. Should abnormal levels be detected, a member of our team may contact you. You are not permitted to disable, cover or tamper this or any other equipment installed on the property. In accordance with Portuguese law, all guests must present valid identification for registration purposes. Municipal tourist tax (when applicable): €2.00 per person/night for guests aged 13 and above, up to a maximum of 7 nights (€14.00 per person per stay). A payment link will be sent prior to arrival. Check-in must be scheduled in advance. If it is not arranged at least 48 hours beforehand, check-in will be subject to our team’s availability. By confirming your reservation, all guests agree to our house rules and accommodation conditions. OTHER NOTES All bed linen and towels are provided. All properties are equipped with a first aid kit, fire extinguishers and a fire blanket. For stays of 8 nights or more, a mid-stay service is provided, including the replenishment of bed linen, towels and consumables only. This service is not included for shorter stays.
