Duplex in the tourist area, with sea view - Lido I

Mycket trevlig och luftig lägenhet. Enkelt med supermarket precis runt hörnet. Backigt, men så är det! Nära att gå ner till vattnet och strandpromenad.

Great stay overall! The space was comfortable, clean, and well-located for our family trip. There are nearby restaurants, cafes, and grocery store, all in a few minutes walk. There is a steep hill to drive or walk up to get to the unit. Parking is reasonable, a bit tight to get into but can be done! The host was responsive when we faced a challenge with the washing machine and took steps to resolve the issue. Thank you for a great stay!

Positive: Logement bien situé. Petites attentions du personnel, on se sent comme à la maison. Negative: Le parking est difficile d'accès (en pente) mais avec une petite voiture et de la pratique, ça passe 😎 !

Mooi en ruim appartement! Het ziet er precies uit zoals op de fotos. Keuken was goed uitgerust en de locatie is perfect. Alle hoogtepunten van het eiland zijn vanaf het appartement goed te bereiken! Plus je hebt een eigen parkeervak! Lekkere restaurantjes op loop afstand. De binnenkomst was wel een beetje rommelig: je krijgt opeens een sleutel in je hand gedrukt en de host was opeens weg zonder verdere uitleg van waar we moesten zijn. Gelukkig was het niet zo moeilijk te vinden. De communicatie over het uitchecken was ook een beetje onduidelijk, maar dat kwam denk ik door de taal barrière. Het enige wat ik aan het huisje nog op te merken heb is dat er maar een dun straaltje uit de douche komt. Al met al was het appartement voor met zijn 5en perfect :)

The location is excellent: 10–15 minutes’ drive from Funchal, about 200 meters from Pingo Doce, walking distance to several restaurants, and private parking with a dedicated space, which is very convenient. Unfortunately, the comfort and management aspects were disappointing. The living room seating is not suitable for an apartment of this size—the couch is essentially lawn furniture and not comfortable for indoor use. The master bedroom shower had very low water pressure, and the hot water heater was only sufficient for one hot shower at a time. As we were five people, this was quite inconvenient. The apartment is also equipped with noise detection sensors that send automatic SMS alerts if a certain decibel level is exceeded. We received a message early one morning claiming excessive noise during hours when everyone was asleep. Our group consisted of two adults, one senior, and two children, so we were certainly not a partying group. When we contacted the management company, the response was dismissive, suggesting we “must have gone over” and even speculating that flushing a toilet could have triggered it. The tone was unpleasant and did not inspire confidence in the system. This was particularly frustrating given that the apartment is above a warehouse that operates daily from around 08:00–09:00 with significant noise, and there was also construction work taking place in another apartment in the building during the day. Most concerning was that the apartment was entered without any prior notice to change linens and towels while we were out. We only realized this later that evening, which felt like a serious invasion of privacy. In summary, while the location and parking are great, issues with comfort, intrusive monitoring, poor communication, and lack of privacy significantly detracted from our stay.
