Positive: The only positive aspect of this stay was the location. It was convenient and well situated. Negative: The apartment was very disappointing and clearly worn out, with many visible signs of damage and neglect. The walls were extremely thin, so we could hear everything happening outside. In the bathroom, both the toilet paper holder and the shower gel holder fell off. There was no shampoo, shower gel, or hand soap provided. There was also no broom or proper cleaning equipment. The hot water ran out very quickly because the boiler was too small (50L) for two adults and two young children. The kettle listed in the apartment details was missing at first. After we requested one, a very cheap kettle was brought, but it initially did not work, then after being replaced, it kept tripping the electricity. In general, the apartment had serious electrical problems: using two appliances at the same time often caused the power to go out. The wiring in the kitchen also looked unsafe, with cheap extension solutions instead of proper outlets. The kitchen equipment was poor and worn out. The dish soap holder was broken, there was no dishwashing liquid, and the washing machine was extremely noisy and shook heavily at the end of the cycle. Drying laundry in the same space where food is prepared is also not acceptable. The sleeping arrangements were uncomfortable. We had to ask for an extra blanket for our child. The bed in the bedroom blocked both power sockets, making them unusable. The bedside lamps did not work needed to be charged first. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable, split into two parts, and felt very cheap and old. The overall furniture was outdated and heavily used, with damaged wall coverings, a badly worn armchair, and blackout curtains with small holes. There were also random old items stored in the apartment, some personal stuff in the closet, such as a ladder with dried paint on it, which made the place feel more like someone had just moved out than a properly prepared rental. The air conditioner itself worked, but the remote control did not.

We had a great stay. Diogo was a wonderful host meeting us promptly with the key to the apartment and helping us to get a taxi from the airport. The place is cute and clean and just what you need for a couple of nights. Great restaurant across the road and cute cafes.

The location is simply perfect — just steps away from the beach, with stunning ocean views and the peaceful sound of the waves in the background. It’s the ideal place to relax and truly unwind. The area is quiet, safe, and perfect for long walks along the coast. The apartment itself is spotless, beautifully maintained, and very well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The décor is tasteful and welcoming, making it feel like a home away from home. Communication with the host was excellent from start to finish — friendly, helpful, and always available if needed. Everything was smooth and well organized.

Porto Santo — the golden island of Portugal — feels like a dream set adrift in the Atlantic. Just a short journey from Madeira, it welcomes you with nine kilometers of soft, golden sand that seem to stretch endlessly into the turquoise horizon. The rhythm here is slower, the air gentler, scented with salt and sunlight. This island is more than its breathtaking beach — it’s a sanctuary for the soul. The healing sands, said to soothe and restore, invite you to walk barefoot and feel time dissolve beneath your feet. The calm waves whisper stories of explorers and sailors who once sought refuge here, while the warm hospitality of its people makes you feel as though you’ve come home. In Porto Santo, every sunset paints the sky in shades of gold and rose, and every moment invites peace. It’s not just a place to visit — it’s a place to breathe, to rest, and to rediscover the quiet beauty of simply being.
